What is Lary's Speakeasy / ElevenLabs Partnership and how does it work?

ElevenLabs is providing free “Pro” subscriptions for all Laryngectomy/Glossectomy patients to create Professionally Cloned Voices (PCV). ElevenLabs has partnered with Lary's Speakeasy to help distribute these licenses. Laryngectomees and glossectomees can apply for their free license through Lary's Speakeasy here.

Tell me about ElevenLabs voice cloning and text-to-speech

ElevenLabs Professional Voice Clones (PVC) have significantly more intonation and conversational style than traditional synthesized voices created through voice banking. They typically sound less computerized and more natural, and are often indistinguishable from the person’s natural voice. And because they use machine learning they continue to get better and better.

What is the process?

First, apply for your free ElevenLabs “Pro” subscription. Once approved, Lary's Speakesy will send you an email within 7 days with a code for your free ElevenLabs account. Subject line will be “ElevenLabs Voice Clone CODE”. Go to the ElevenLabs website and create an account, use the code for your free “Pro” subscription. Once your account is created you can begin creating your ElevenLabs Voice Clone!

What is the criteria to receive a free ElevenLabs account?

You must have been determined to be unable to speak or voice due to a medical diagnosis such as cancer or degenerative disease, or you have had or are scheduled for a medically necessary surgical procedure that would render you unable to communicate on a permanent basis (such as a laryngectomy, tracheostomy, glossectomy, or Spasmodic Dysphonia.)

Does ElevenLabs have an app so I can use their text-to speech service on my phone?

Yes. ElevenLabs Reader App can have texts or websites read out loud, The app will store a copy of phrases/text that you generate, but these cannot be sorted into categories or priority order.
